A notice was received from VA’s ECHCS Public Affairs Officer Dan Warvi’s VSO Report for April 2015 announcing the appointment of Ms. Carolyn L. Adams as the new Interim Director of VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, Denver, CO. Ms. Adams will oversee delivery of health care to 81,000 Veterans across our 13 facilities in Eastern Colorado.

“We are excited to bring Ms. Carolyn L. Adams on board as the new Senior Advisor of the VA Medical Center” said Ralph Gigliotti, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 19 Director. “Her sound leadership qualities and proven experience will be valuable assets for the facility, the employees and volunteers, and most importantly, for the Veterans we are honored to serve. She will arrive at the medical center on April 14, 2015 to begin her appointment.”

Ms. Adams’ experience leading two VA Medical Center Hospitals and throughout her extensive VA career, her qualifications will greatly enhance our ability to fulfill the mission assigned to us by the Department for Veterans Affairs.

Ms. Adams received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. She completed her Masters in Allied Health Education with a nutrition emphasis, also at Eastern Kentucky University. Ms. Adams most recently led the VA Medical Center in Charleston SC, previously held the position of Associate Director of the Salem VA Medical Center. Prior to the Associate Director position, she was the Primary Care Service Line Manager for the Dayton VAMC. Ms. Adams was also an adjunct part-time professor for the University of Kentucky, Wright State University, and Sinclair Community College.
