What: Military Veteran Artists Featured at First Friday Art Walk on Sante Fe

When: 6-9 p.m. on November 6, 2015

Where: VFW Post #1, 814 Sante Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204

Background: Join the Denver VA Regional Office and the Eastern Colorado VA Health Care System, at the First Friday Art Walk, on Sante Fe Drive in downtown Denver. Meet with Veteran artists who use paint, sculpture, photography, and other forms of art as a creative means of therapy.

VFW Post #1, VA, and a number of community and Veteran organizations are hosting a tour of art work created by Veterans, many of them involved in the Art of War Project at the VFW Post #1, VA Denver Rec/Creative Arts Therapy Program, and/or VA National and local Creative Arts Festival.

Featured Artists:

Jim Stevens: Artist, Author, Sculptor, Scrimshander, and Blinded Vietnam Veteran. Jim does not let a disability stop him from being creative or successful.

Curt Bean: Founder, Art of War Project, Artist, student, Iraqi Sniper and Scout Veteran, and a graduate of VA PTSD Program, where he learned that art was helpful therapy for his PTSD symptoms and now teaches other Veterans to use art as a way to give back.
