We are coming up on the end of this membership year.  Colorado you have done an excellent job this year with renewing your current members, getting new members and even renewing those members that have expired membership into this great organization.  But the work is still not done.  The department has reached 94% of our membership goal.

The Spring Conventions will be starting this month and in some cases election of those new officers that will lead your Post and/or District through the next year.  With that in mind, the Department Convention in June will be holding some Management sessions on Friday and Saturday morning that will give you new officers a little better understanding of what your duties and responsibility will be for the coming year.  I would strongly request that you try to attend that extra day if at all possible.

There will be a few changes in the Department Convention this year.  We will be combining our mandatory requirements with a training session.  Granted we can not give you the hours and hours of training that needs to be completed in some cases, but we will be able to give you some basic information that will assist the officers and general membership the knowledge to run their organization.  You are the backbone of your Post; you are the individuals that created, organized and control your posts.  Help The American Legion, Help your Districts and Help your Posts become that great organization that was developed over 96 years ago.
