We were much honored to have our National Commander, Fang Wong and his wife Barbara, visit us on 01 April through 06 April 2012. Special thanks to everyone who were involved in making our National Commanders visit a great success. Our NEC Ralph Bozella has written an article covering the visit. Thanks to all Legion Members, our Districts and Posts for the great job in working our membership this year to-date. We have met all our past monthly National Goals and we are over the 95% for the April 11 National Goal. We just have one more to make and that is the 100% on May 09. Our current membership is at the highest it has been in ten years. We only need 718 more members to make 100%. Everyone, please step forward and lets make Colorado the first Department to make 100%. We can do it, “United We Stand”. Our yearly Colorado American Legion college training day will be on May 19 at Security Post # 38. Our training this year will be on Saturday only. Breakfast will be available at the post beginning at 8:00 a.m. and our opening ceremonies will be at 9:00 a.m. We plan on finishing by 5:30 p.m. and closing with award of certificates followed by a dinner and closing ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. All American Legion Members and Sons of the Legion are invited. We are especially requesting our Post Commanders, District Commanders and all Post and District Officers and those planning to advance into these positions to please attend. More information will be available on calccoloradolegion.org. You can go on line to fill out your applications. All applications must be received at the Colorado Department Headquarters not later than 12 May 2012. This is a great opportunity for all Legion Members to work together and learn about how our Legion/Posts operate.
